In May 2017, through donations and creative financing, we purchased $1 million dollars worth of sea scallop quota, allowing up to 17,000 more pounds of this sustainably-managed shellfish to reach Vineyard docks.

We lease our quota at subsidized rates to island sea scallop fishermen and businesses and work with them to make sure this fresh, local product is available to chefs and the community. The model helps stabilize their businesses and access to fish this delicious and sustainable fishery.
