OTHER DONATION OPTIONS
Monthly Giving Program
Breaking down your contribution into monthly payments is a great way to spread your gift over time. You indicate your preferred monthly amount and select "Make this a monthly donation" when you donate online. Tax donation receipts will be sent annually. To start your monthly gift, please use the online donation link, call 508-687-0344, or email us at info@mvfpt.org.
Planned Giving
By making a planned gift, you have the opportunity to both support the future of our fishermen and benefit from potential tax savings. We encourage you to explore options such as making a bequest, donating retirement fund assets, or establishing a charitable gift annuity. To learn more, we recommend consulting with your financial advisor or contacting Shelley Edmundson, our Executive Director, at 508-687-0344 or shelley@mvfpt.org.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
Individuals aged 70-1/2 or older may make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD)–directly donating funds from their IRA to a qualified charity like the Martha's Vineyard Fishermen's Preservation Trust. Through this method, IRA owners can contribute up to $100,000 to 501(c)3 organizations. This QCD can be used to satisfy any IRA required minimum distributions for the year. In addition, the amount of the QCD excluded from gross income is not taken into account in determining any deduction for charitable contributions.
